2. What we collect and why
| What | When | Why | Legal basis (EU terms) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your name and email address (required); your phone number with country code, company and message (optional) | You send the contact form | To answer your enquiry and follow up on it | Steps you ask for before a possible contract; our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries |
| The same details, plus the product you choose | You ask for a brochure or data sheet | To send it and follow up on that request | The same |
| Your messages and contact details | You email or phone us | To answer you | The same |
| Your IP address, which your browser sends to IPinfo (ipinfo.io); IPinfo returns only your country | You open a page with a phone field | To preset the dialling code in the phone field | Our legitimate interest in a form that is easy to use |
| Your IP address, browser, the page you asked for and the time | Every visit; our web host’s server records this | To run the site, keep it secure and find faults | Our legitimate interest in a working, secure website |
Your name and email address are needed to send a form; without them we cannot reply. Everything else is optional.
We do not ask for sensitive data, we do not sell personal data, and we make no automated decisions about you.
3. Cookies and similar technology
valles.in sets no analytics, advertising or social-media cookies. It stores only what the site needs to work:
- Page cache: a cookie,
_lscache_vary, lets our cache show you the right version of a page; it expires after 2 days. In your browser’s session storage,litespeed_docrefandlitespeed_reloadeddo the same job. - Forms:
valles_ipinfo_cc, in session storage, remembers the country IPinfo returned, so the lookup runs once per visit.
Session storage is deleted when you close the tab.
Fonts are loaded from our own server, so opening a page does not contact Google.
4. Links and buttons to other services
- Email addresses and phone numbers on the site open your own mail or phone app.
- Links to other websites open those sites. Their own privacy policies apply.
5. Who receives your data
- Our team at Valles, in India, who answer enquiries.
- Our web host, HostGator, which runs the website and our email on servers in the United States.
- IPinfo (ipinfo.io): to pre-fill the country code in phone fields, our website sends your IP address to IPinfo, which returns only your country. No form content is shared with IPinfo.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
We answer enquiries from India. If you write to us from another country, you send your data directly to us. Our website and mailboxes are hosted in the United States; IPinfo may also process your IP address outside India.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries and correspondence: 3 years after our last contact with you, then deleted, unless an order or a legal duty, such as tax and accounting records, needs them longer.
- Form entries on the website: a copy is kept in the website database for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry.
- Server records: kept by our web host for up to a day, then processed into site statistics.
- Session storage: until you close the tab. Cache cookie: 2 days.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete your personal data, and to receive a copy of it. You can also object to or restrict how we use it. Where you have given consent, you can withdraw it at any time; that does not affect what we did before. Write to valles@valles.in. We may ask you to confirm who you are.
- EU / EEA: you may also complain to the data-protection authority where you live or work.
- India: you may write to our Grievance Officer (section 1). You may nominate a person to exercise your rights if you die or cannot act. If we do not resolve your grievance, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India. This notice is available in other Indian languages on request.
- Elsewhere: the same rights apply as far as your local law grants them, and you may complain to your local privacy authority.
8. Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Security
The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, including for forms. Access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it to answer them or to run the website.
10. Changes
We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top.
